Food Pyramid



1. Look at the list and write the names of food you hear:
a glass of wine, vegetables, fruits, water, beer, milk, junk food, pasta, chicken, whole grains



2. Watch the video and decide if the sentences are true or false

- In 1992 the US government had a plan to make people eat more sensibly and it was a success.
- The new pyramid was introduced in April 2005 with 5 different groups of food.
- MyPyramid makes its recommendations in ounces and cups.
- Some people say the new pyramid does a lot to discourage Americans from eating so much junk food.
- There are no alternatives to the USDA Food Pyramid.
- Research shows that whole grains are much healthier.
